Home remedies for cold sores: Garlic
Garlic is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, killing bacteria, fungus, yeast, viruses and parasites. A scientific study has confirmed that garlic can destroy several virus types on contact including herpes type 1 and 2. Herpes simplex-1 causes 80% of all oral herpes.
So garlic could be very useful for cold sores except for the smell. You can use sliced garlic cloves. You may also want to eat it. But more than 2 raw garlic cloves at a time may ruin your stomach and will also give you "a breath to remember".
Even though, it is unclear how garlic supplements act in the body man y people with herpes have stopped several outbreaks by taking high doses of garlic extract. 900 mg of garlic a day is a good start. Garlic is one of the most powerful home remedies for cold sores. But it is not very convenient and can cause nausea and skin burns if taken raw.
Try to use mainly garlic extracts as a cold sore treatment when you feel the first signs of tingling. I prefer Garlinase Fresh because it contains very high levels of the most active garlic ingredient allicin and enzymes. It helps digest garlic easily and reduces bad breath.

Herpes Treatment: Home Remedies. Part II
Home remedies for cold sores: Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is one of the oldest home remedies for cold sores, herpes and wounds in Europe. But its potential as a treatment extends far beyond herpes and apple cider vinegar is still called a wonder drug by many.
It can be used topically to prevent fever blisters or cold sores from developing. It should not be used pure on open sores because it can sting a lot. Pour a few drops on a cotton ball and apply it on your cold sore or blister. You can also mix it with lemon juice to increase its potential. You may also add a table spoon to your face lotion or toner. It will clear your skin from those horrible blackheads and prevent future cold sores.
I also recommend drinking one or two tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per day in a glass of water at each change of season. It detoxifies and brings a lot of minerals to the body, helps with hair loss, bad teeth, skin disorders and so much more. It is a little acidic so don't drink too much and start slowly with one to two teaspoons per day and increase gradually.
I personally love apple cider vinegar. I hate the taste but I love the results. It's very important that you use unheated preferably non-filtered organic apple cider vinegar if you want to get any valuable results.

Herpes Dating
If you have herpes, it doesn't mean your sex life is over. You are not alone!
If you have herpes it does NOT mean that you are always contagious and will automatically spread it to your partner. There are ways to reduce the risk of transmission and keep your partner safe. There are many couples in which one person has herpes, and the other person does not.
There are many herpes social and support groups you can join to meet other people who are in the same situation. Some of these groups are very active and are a great place to make friends and find people to date. There are also several online dating services for people with herpes.
Remember, you are not alone! Your life is continuing!

Herpes virus to kill cancer cells?
A German biotech company has announced positive results from a genetically engineered herpes virus that is designed to kill cancer cells. It not only kills the cancer cells but leaves healthy tissue unharmed. Results from clinical trials has showed promise.
Being injected with a herpes virus might seem strange but researchers believe that viruses could one day become a valuable addition to conventional cancer treatments.
The results have shown in animal testing and limited human testing the ability to kill colorectal and liver cancer cells.

Vaginal Herpes
Some of the earliest symptoms can include:
· An itching or burning sensation
· Pain in the legs, buttocks, or genital area
· Vaginal discharge
· A feeling of pressure or fullness in the abdominal area
A few days following the initial symptoms, sores or lesions erupt at the site of the infection. These sores can occur inside the vagina or on the cervix in women, as well as in the urinary passage in both men and women.
· fever
· headache
· muscle aches
· urinary pain or difficulty
· swollen glands in the groin area.
There are three drugs currently available to treat genital herpes. However, these medications are not cures. Pharmaceutical treatment of genital herpes may shorten the length of first episodes and reduce the severity and frequency of recurrent episodes. These drugs are:
· Zoviraz (acyclovir),
· Famvir (famciclovir),
· Valtrex (valacyclovir).
· Keep the infected area clean and dry.
· Don't touch the sores; if you do wash your hands immediately.
· Refrain from sex from the time you first notice symptoms until sores/lesions are completely healed and covered by new skin.

Part II. Cure yourself with Wonder Fruits! Hot Five!
All these fruits deserve not only articles but poems! They are our true friends.
1. Apple
I think everyone knows this old saying: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” That’s true! Probably, apple is the king of the fruits.
Apples are very useful: they help to strengthen a heart, stimulate the work of lungs, and regulate liver. Apples contain many essential vitamins and nutrients: vitamins С, Bi, B2, Вб, Е, К, РР, and natural fruit sugars. Apple is a great source of fiber.
Please don't peel the apple. Remember, apple's peel is very useful! It contains fiber, nutrients and antioxidants, thus helping us to fight diseases.
Two-thirds of the fiber, and many of the antioxidants, are found in apple's peel.
2. Grapefruit
Some scientists believe that grapefruit is the most useful fruit, because even its pits protect us from diseases!
Grapefruit is a great source of fiber and it’s the champion among other fruits containing a fiber. It has more fiber than orange, apple and banana!
It contains also bioflavonoids and vitamin C, a big friend of immune system.
Grapefruit is very good for your heart. It can help to lower the risk of heart disease.
Scientific researches proved that even grapefruit pits are very good for health. Pits contain nutrients with some properties similar to antibiotics characteristics. So these nutrients fight with different bacteris in our body and therefore protect us from diseases.
3. Orange
One writer named oranges as “golden apples of the sun”. He was poetic about these wonderful fruits, wasn’t he?
Of course, orange has high vitamin C content and the natural fiber. One orange contains approximately 50mg of vitamin C; it’s about 2/3 of our daily need. Orange juice is an excellent source of calcium.
It also contains folic acid, beta-carotene, potassium, selenium, antioxidants, and plenty of phytochemicals, the bioactive compounds in plant foods that help nutrients boost the immune system.
Scientific studies say that cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity may be reduced with daily citrus fruit intake. Orange, as other citrus fruits, is high of antioxidants, resulting in the inhibition of tumour growth and the normalising of tumour cells.
4. Avocado
Avocados contain 81 micrograms of the carotenoid lutein, which helps maintain healthy eyes.
Avocado contains nearly 20 vitamins, minerals and beneficial plant compounds.
Avocado is recommended to people suffering from heart diseases and as addition to a calorie-controlled diet.
5. Lemon
Lemon is a great diseases fighter! Everybody knows how it’s helpful when you have a sore throat, flu, a cold, and any virus disease.
A cup of tea with a slice of lemon is not only delicious and wonderful drink but also a great source of vitamins and energy.
Lemon contains Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Calcium, Phosphorus, flavonoid a compound that contains antioxidant and anti-cancer properties.
Take care and be healthy!

Herpes:Blog Reviews
But love is bigger than sex,
Those cells will respond to you
They hang on your every intention- formed and unformed
You create your own gospel/god-spell everyday
own powerlessness
But you can experience your almost unlimited powers
The day you decide to no longer believe in the lie
You are the great healer
When ill you can mobilize your immune system
Command it and believe it
And it will be so
Your body knows the difference in what you solemnly believe and what
you do not
Are you ready to claim your own greatness?
Will today be the day that you rewrite the script of your life?

Fight Diseases with Smile! Is it possible?
Maybe you can’t believe but it’s true. It turns out that smile it a really powerful thing. If you keep smiling your health is improving. Can’t believe?
The mechanics of the process is the following. When you smile, you give a signal to your body: “Everything is good!” I emphasize the word IS. Everything IS good, not “will be” good but it IS very well already now!
But life isn’t so easy. You smile and your body is surprised: “Is it really good? Impossible. Usually things are not so good. Let’s see what will be next…”
Your body knows your ordinary state and can’t believe that something has changed. It’s a natural resistance of your body. But you have to win! Keep smiling! And step by step your body begins to understand that… everything IS good! Every cell of your body begins to joy and this joy will help to get rid of diseases!
By the way, do you think that it’s so easy to keep smiling every moment? Just try! It’s very difficult. You aren’t accustomed to keep smiling, are you?
It’s part of the healing system of Norbekov. He applies this system helping people to take glasses off (i.e. to restore their eyesight to normal), and to get rid from different diseases including varicose veins, digestive tract diseases etc.
Many friends of mine visited his seminars and confirmed that it’s very helpful. It works! Someone got rid of tumours, someone said that his eyesight has improved etc. Their health has improved anyway!
By the way, there is an article about Norbekov’s system and very interesting comments concerning eyesight restoring, including personal experienses: http://www.mind-energy.net/archives/95-Restore-eyesight-to-normal.html
In any case you have to believe in yourself. It’s a matter of your subconsciousness. If your subconsciousness believes that you are healthy, you ARE healthy! It’s like that: your subconsciousness will command to your body: BE HEALTHY!
Yes, it’s like a magic. But you really ARE your own magician.
Look at these photos. Do you feel a positive energy coming from them? Seeing them, you begin smiling spontaneously, don’t you?
There are different smiles of course. If you want to become healthy, your smile has to be open, sincer, happy!
Keep smiling anytime and terrible diseases will leave you forever!

Herpes Treatment with Vitamins
It is autumn now. I like this beautiful season: yellow leaves falling and rustling, gentle melancholic rain, cold and transparent air.
But you know that autumn is a period of catarrhal diseases, chronical diseases exacerbation and thus immune system weakening.
As I’ve mentioned before, 90% of humans are infected with herpes. The herpes virus has an ability to survive for a long time in organism tissues. Some kinds of herpes virus could be present in sensitive ganglia of spinal cord of a person during all his or her life. And the latent infection not necessary will transfer to an active form of disease.
But there are factors that make easy such transfer. These factors include immunity reduce, chronical stress, chronical diseases exacerbation, hypovitaminosis, abnormalities in endocrine glands function, metabolic disturbance, pollution of environment etc.
So we have to protect and stimulate our immune system. Vitamins play an important role here. There are some useful vitamins and agents for persons infected with herpes, such as А, В, Е vitamins, ascorbic acid, rutin. They are very effective in autumn.
Take care and be healthy!

Herpes Zoster: Signs and Symptoms
The earliest symptoms of shingles include headache, sensitivity to light, fever, and malaise, all of which may be followed by itching, tingling, and pain within one to seven days. The pain may be extreme in the affected nerve, where the rash will later develop, and can be characterized as stinging, tingling, aching, numbing, or throbbing, and can be pronounced with quick stabs of intensity.
During this phase, herpes zoster is frequently misdiagnosed as other diseases with similar symptoms, including heart attacks and renal colic. Some patients may have these symptoms without developing the characteristic rash. This situation, known as "zoster sine herpete," can delay diagnosis and treatment.
The initial phase is followed, in most cases, by development of the characteristic skin rashes of herpes zoster. The rash is visually similar to hives, and follow a distribution near dermatomes, commonly occurring in a stripe or belt-like pattern.
The rash evolves into vesicles or small blisters filled with serous fluid. The vesicles are generally painful, and their development is often associated with the occurrence of anxiety and further flu-like symptoms, such as fever, tiredness, and generalized pain.
The vesicles eventually become hemorrhagic (filled with blood), and crust over within seven to 10 days. As the crusts fall off, patients are rarely left with scarring and pigmented skin.
Shingles cannot be passed from one person to another. However, the virus that causes shingles, VZV, can be spread from a person with active shingles to a person who has no immunity to the virus by direct contact with the rash, while in the blister phase.
The person exposed would then develop chicken pox, not shingles. The virus is not spread through airborne transmission, such as sneezing or coughing. Once the rash has developed crusts, the person is no longer contagious. A person is not infectious before blisters appear or with post-herpetic neuralgia (pain after the rash is gone).
Chicken pox virus can remain dormant for decades, and does so inside the ganglion of the spinal cord. As the virus is reactivated it spreads down peripheral nerve fibers and produces intense pain. The blisters therefore only affect one area of the body and do not cross the midline. They are most common on the torso, but can also appear on the face, eyes or other parts of the body.

Herpes Zoster
After an attack of chicken pox, the varicella-zoster virus retreats to nerve cells within the ganglion or the spinal cord, where it will lie dormant for several months up to several decades.
Aging, stress, or disease will cause the varicella zoster virus to reactivate and reproduce, at which point it is known as herpes zoster. Once activated, the herpes zoster virus travels along the path of a nerve to the skin's surface, where it causes shingles.
Treatment is generally with antiviral drugs such as acyclovir (Zovirax), or prodrugs such as famciclovir (Famvir), or valacyclovir (Valtrex).

How Herpes Testing Is Done
Herpes Testing
For a viral culture, viral antigen test, or PCR test, a clean cotton swab is rubbed against a herpes sore to collect fluid and cells for examination. Samples may be collected from the vagina, cervix, penis, urethra, eye, throat, or skin.
Health professionals usually collect a sample from small herpes sores that are only a few days old. Viruses are more likely to be found in small newly formed sores.
For an antibody test, the health professional drawing blood will:
What To Think About
Normal test results do not mean you do not have a herpes infection. Herpes is often diagnosed by symptoms and by knowing whether the person has had contact with an infected person. Sometimes a test is not needed.
A person who has genital herpes needs to learn how to avoid spreading the disease, since the disease is more likely to be spread when he or she has sores. If you have recurrent outbreaks, especially during times of stress or illness, you can also spread the disease.
You may want to know whether a herpes infection is due to HSV-1 or HSV-2 so you can take steps to prevent or treat outbreaks.
A genital herpes infection can be spread from a mother to her baby during vaginal delivery. In a newborn, herpes can cause organ failure, brain infection, and death. A pregnant woman with genital herpes will likely have a cervical culture done every week for the last 4 to 6 weeks of the pregnancy before delivery.
If active herpes is present near the time of delivery, a cesarean delivery may be done to prevent infecting the baby.
POCkit is a new test available at some clinics. It checks blood from a finger stick for antibodies to HSV-2. The results are generally ready in about 10 minutes. The POCkit test is more expensive than other tests and may not be available everywhere.

Herpes Testing
Herpes viral culture
Why It Is Done
A test for herpes is done to see whether HSV is causing sores, in the genital or mouth area.
How To Prepare
If you may have genital herpes, do not have sexual contact until your test results are back. You can lower the chance of spreading the disease to your partner(s).

Genital Herpes Transmissions
Herpes transmission is caused by close oral, anal, or genital contact, including intercourse, masturbation, kissing, or any direct skin-to-skin contact which allows for the transfer of bodily fluids.
Herpes is potentially contagious when no symptoms are present. That is, a person who has genital herpes is potentially always shedding active virus.
Some people do not get typical blister-like sores but harbor active virus in their saliva, vaginal, or penile secretions, and can shed the virus without knowing they have herpes.
Oral herpes can be transmitted to the genitals, and vice versa. Symptoms are similar.
It is possible for a person to contract genital herpes if the partner with oral herpes performs oral sex. Oral herpes can be transmitted to the genitals, and vice versa. Symptoms are similar.
Environmental surfaces like toilet seats may be a source of contagion, but there is no evidence that this poses a real threat to the general population. Experts differ as to how long the virus can survive on its own. The primary cause of infection remains intimate contact.

The Symptoms of Genital Herpes
- an itching or burning feeling in the genital or anal area
- flu-like symptoms, including fever
- swollen glands
- pain in the legs, buttocks, or genital area
- vaginal discharge
- a feeling of pressure in the area below the stomach
Within a few days, sores (also called lesions) show up where the virus has entered the body, such as on the mouth, penis, or vagina.
Sores can also show up on a woman’s cervix, which is the opening to the uterus or womb, or in the urinary passage in men. The sores are small red bumps that may turn into blisters or painful open sores. Over a period of days, the sores become crusted and then heal without scarring.
Other later symptoms of genital herpes may include:
- small red bumps on the penis, vagina, or wherever the infection began. These bumps may become blisters or painful open sores that can take up to four weeks to heal.
- itching or burning in the genital area
- pain in the legs, buttocks, or genital area
- vaginal discharge
- feeling pressure or discomfort around your stomach
- fever
- headache
- muscle aches
- pain when urinating
- swollen glands in the genital area
Some people may have no symptoms – but they can still spread herpes! Sometimes only very mild sores appear, but are mistaken for an insect bite or other skin problems.
If you have HIV, a genital herpes infection can be worse. If you have herpes, do not have any sexual activity with someone who does not have herpes when you have sores or other symptoms of herpes. Even if you don’t have symptoms, you can still pass the virus to others.

Boosting the Immune System to Fight Herpes
Immunity is a crucial thing for our health. Just think: if you have strong imunity you can fight any disease including herpes! But what to do if you are not so lucky? How to boost your immune system?
I’d like to publicate several posts about immunity strengthening. Let’s start!
How to Strengthen Immune System: 3 tips
1. Diverse diet
Researches proved that luck of juct one necessary agent for organism could lead to immunity weakening. So we need diverse food!
2. Fruits and vegetables
Scientists believe that fruits and vegetables are very useful for us. I mean a variety of fruits and vegetables of all kinds and colours. Red, yellow, green.
3. Seafoods
Any seafood contains many nutrients that are absolutely necessary for people. Seafoods are sources of many vitamins, mineral matters (calcium, phosphorus, iron) and trace elements (selenium, zinc, iodine).
It’s only beginning of my discoveries of immunity subject. We've to fight herpes!

Something about Herpes Treatment
There are also some advices that could be helpful during an outbreak.
First, keep the infected area clean and dry. Use warm shower if you want. Then dry the area with a hair dryer or towel. As a rule, using different creams isn’t helpful and could lead to irritation. Also consider not to wear tight-fitting undergarments.
Importance of Healthy Immune System
Healthy immune system is a very important thing in herpes treatment. So care for your immunity in order to help your organism fighting with different unpleasant diseases including herpes.
In order to strengthen your immune system you have to sleep and rest enough. Try to avoid stress because it has a very negative influence on immunity.
The right diet is also very important. Fruits, vegetables and foods rich in certain fatty acids may support a healthy immune system.
Lifestyle makes difference, too. If you spend much time outdoors, make physical exercises and after all enjoy life, your immunity will strengthen without any doubts!

How is herpes diagnosed?
Herpes is diagnosed by testing a sample taken from an ulcer or blister. There is no readily available reliable blood test for the virus, and there is no certain diagnosis for individuals who are asymptomatic.

Symptoms of herpes
Lesions may also be found within the vagina and on the cervix. In the case of genital infection, there may also be pain and itching where the sore is located or burning with urination. These blisters eventually crust over, form a scab, and heal, usually within 1-3 weeks.
Once the initial infection has resolved, some people experience outbreaks of genital blisters, ulcers, or small sores, which can occur on the penis, vulva, anus, buttocks, and/or thighs. Itching and tingling in the genitals are often an early warning sign that an outbreak is soon to occur. The frequency and severity of outbreaks varies from one person to the next.
Sores that occur during outbreaks generally last 3-7 days and are not as painful as those of the initial infection, and systemic symptoms are rare. However, some people may experience recurrent, painful genital ulcers. In addition, people with suppressed immune systems may experience severe, persistent ulcers.
What triggers a herpes outbreak?
If you have herpes sometimes outbreaks occur. Why? What’s a reason?
Unfortunately, outbreaks of herpes can be triggered by a number of factors, including:
- Stress
- Sunlight
- Sickness or fever
- Certain types of foods or beverages (including peanuts, alcohol, and coffee).
Although genital herpes usually causes mild symptoms, some people may experience recurrent painful genital ulcers, which can be especially severe in people with suppressed immune systems. Like other STIs, herpes may also increase the risk for transmitting or acquiring HIV infection.
Be healthy!
